ACKC Cocoa Bar (1529c 14th St. NW; 202-387-2626; www.TheCocoaGallery.com; Sundays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) Their Sunday mimosa brunch features an a-la-carte menu with items such as chocolate-stuffed French toast, poached pears with chocolate sauce and other items that serve the needs of chocoholic customers. Add mimosas or a hot chocolate and you are in brunch heaven. Reservations are not accepted so come early and eat often.
Art & Soul (415 New Jersey Ave. NW; 202-347-7678; www.artandsouldc.com; Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Sunday 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) Recognized as one of DC’s Best Brunches, enjoy their acclaimed à la carte brunch menu of modern regional cuisine with southern accents from two-time James Beard award winner Chef Art Smith. Indulge in their famous Fried Chicken and Waffles, Gayle’s Lemon Yogurt Pancakes with lemon infused honey and mascarpone butter, and Chesapeake Benedict with jumbo lump crab cakes. Asylum (2471 18th St. NW; 202-319-9353; www.asylumdc.com; Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) Asylum serves an a-la-carte brunch menu. There are a few lunch options available but no fixed pricing. The primary focus is vegan/vegetarian while still offering plenty of carnivorous options. They have no entertainment other than rock and roll music from an iPod. The tofu scramble is the house favorite. They do not take reservations.
Austin Grill (Downtown in Penn Quarter; 202-393-3776; www.austingrill.com; Saturdays and Sundays until 3 p.m.): This locally based Tex-Mex restaurant group offers a brunch menu with everything from pancakes, French toast, omelets, and bacon to Tex-Mex classics like Huevos Rancheros, and Migas Plate (eggs scrambled with tortilla, chilies, onions, tomatoes and melted cheese).
Beacon Bar & Grill (1615 Rhodes Island Ave., NW, D.C.; 202-872-1126; www.BBGWDC.com; Sundays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.): Beacon Bar and Grill has a phenomenal champagne buffet brunch with unlimited mimosas, champagne and bloody marys. Bistro Francais (3124-28 M St. NW; 202-338-3830; www.bistrofrancaisdc.com; Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) Bistro Francais in the heart of Georgetown offers a brunch served a-la-carte, with a full lunch menu also available. The price for brunch is $24.95. Try their eggs Benedict, one of the best in town, or their famous Poulet Bistro (1/2 roast chicken from the rotisserie), Truite Braisee Florentine (boneless broiled trout, spinach mousse).
The Bombay Club (815 Connecticut Ave. NW; 202-659-3727; www.bombayclubdc.com; Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) The Bombay Club offers a quiet, elegant start on your Sunday. A pianist plays while you indulge on the delicious buffet spread of traditional Indian cooking at its finest. For $20 a person, seven Indian main-course dishes are offered. Though the selection changes each Sunday, you’ll always find a dish that features an appetizer, red meat and one each of chicken, egg/fish, three vegetables, one of lentils accompanied by rice and breads. The experience is not over without trying the Indian dessert and fresh seasonal fruits.

On Saturday, try their a-la-carte menu featuring tableside guacamole, eggs “Benedicto,” crab cake salad and pan dulce. On Sunday, try their famous “Nueve Latino” Dim Sum Brunch featuring pork belly comfit with passion fruit oil, hot and cold foie grass and corn soup, and fried egg with mashed lack beans. The Chef’s Tasting Menu, regular and vegetarian, is available until 1:30 p.m.

The menu is the brainchild of Executive Chef Damon Gordon, whose award-studded career has spanned from the U.K.’s Michelin-starred Waterside Inn to New York City’s Mix with Alain Ducasse.
