Downtown DC heats up again this summer with the free 2008 Sounds in the Square concert series held in Farragut Square Park on Thursday evenings in May and June.

Grab a blanket and some friends and hit the park after work to take part in the local music scene. This year's series will feature some of the area's most popular local bands like No Second Troy, which Spin magazine says "burns bright as the sun" and other local favorites.

When: Thursday nights in May and June (not May 29)

Where: Farragut Square, located at 17th and K Streets, NW, Washington, DC (click here for detailed directions)

Time: 5-7 p.m.
