Exit Clov, Washington, D.C.’s twin-led quintet is busy delivering indie-pop goodies to our front doors and sending audience members to the optometrist to get their eyes checked for double vision. Trust us—catch ‘em while you can, because this band is destined for great things. Led by the identical duo of Emily and Susan Hsu, Exit Clov sounds a heck of a lot like their Canadian counterparts, Tegan & Sara—and has the talent to ignite an all-out twin-band rivalry with our neighbors to the north. Drummer John Thayer, bassist Brett Niederman and guitarist Aaron Leeder round out the eclectic and occasional alt sound that is Exit Clov.

Emily Hsu took a breather from promoting the band’s May release, "Up All Night: Jammin’ to the Talking Heads" to answer the pressing questions everyone wants to know:

OT: What's the weirdest house pet that exists?
Hsu: My twin sister.

OT: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Hsu: A professional cynic.

OT: Beer, wine or what?
Hsu: Coffee and bubble tea.

OT: What did your childhood bike look like?
Hsu: It was a Schwinn bicycle with purple tassles and a white basket.

OT: What do you do for fun on tour?
Hsu: I spread peppercorn cheese on Triscuits for my bandmates in the van and teach Brett [Niederman, bassist] how to say, "Clean up my shit, biatch!" in Taiwanese.

OT: Worst pickup line you've ever gotten?
Hsu: "I like my food how I like my women: hot and Asian."

OT: Best band T-shirt you've ever owned?
Hsu: An XXL Manic Street Preachers shirt that said, “When freedom exists there will be no state.”

OT: What CD have you owned that you're most ashamed of?
Hsu: The Sensuous Sax collection.

OT: What was your favorite cartoon as a kid?
Hsu: "Inspector Gadget."

OT: What's the best thing on your merch table?
